Myrtles View
apartment is a self contained apartment, designed to ensure guests have a
private, peaceful atmosphere to relax and enjoy the garden and the harbour.
Myrtles View has one bedroom, although a sofa bed in the lounge, or a roll
out bed is available for an extra guest or children.
Situated 3 km from the township,MyrtlesView
offers a quiet retreat, away from the bustle of the busy town. A two
minute walk through a well defined, tree fern lined path leads to a
harbour beach. Great for swimming when the tide is in, or for walks
along the beach as far as you wish to go
An ideal place to stay to explore Raglan
and its surroundings
Built in 2004, Myrtle’s View offers a restful
yet modern décor. The open plan design of the kitchen, dining area
and lounge, with French doors leading from the dining area and lounge, gives
a flow on from indoors to outside.

The lounge has comfortable seating,
and offers :

· Menus for local restaurants
· Heat pump air conditioning/heating
· Board games including Monopoly and Scrabble
· Books, including some books on New Zealand and the Waikato

· good sized refrigerator, with a small freezer (complete with
ice blocks!!)
· All cutlery, china ware, pots, cooking utensils and a range
of serving/salad bowls.

· Outside table and chairs are situated on the large deck, which
overlooks the garden, for al fresco dining.
Tea, coffee (instant and plunger) and
milk are provided.

Our garden
The garden is still developing,
with a waterfall and ponds being completed in November 2005. Featuring large
tree ferns, ferns and an assortment of ‘imported’ trees, it is truly a bi-cultural
mix. One of our pleasures is collecting art to complement the plantings. You
will see several pieces dotted around the garden. The name of Myrtles View
comes from a statue placed in the potager vegetable garden, which can be seen
from the deck. It is a pottery piece by local artist Hayley Hamilton, called
Myrtle the Turtle and the Starcatcher. Myrtle is looking up at the apartment
so the apartment is the view Myrtle’s View. Hayley’s work is available through
Jet Collective, a co-operative of various artists in Bow Street, Raglan (the
main street).
Guests are very welcome to wander
through the paths on our section.
Myrtles View is situated at 102B
Greenslade Rd Raglan. Greenslade Road is a no exit road on the right coming
into Raglan from Hamilton.
